St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic community provides formal faith formation programs for early adolescent (Jr.High)and older adolescent (High school) students from the sixth through the twelfth grades. Youth faith formation reaches into the daily lives of our young people to show them the presence of God responding to their needs. The program helps them share the unique gifts of their youth with the larger community as they grow in knowledge and understanding of their Catholic faith. All classes are taught by volunteer catechists and aides.

We invite all who attend Mass to bring a covered dish to share with
the community after Mass in the parish hall.
CLASS CANCELLATION PROCEDURE
In case of inclement weather or for any other reason, if CCE classes must be canceled each catechist will be notified and they will call their students. If you change your telephone number during the year, please give that information to the Faith Formation office. The decision to cancel classes for bad weather will be made no more than 2 hours before the beginning of class. At that time the office will have information on extension 14 voice mail. If at any time a parent/guardian feels it would be unsafe to bring their child to class, their judgment will not be questioned and the child should remain home.
SECURITY/SAFETY
Apart from effective Faith Formation itself, security of all the children involved in the St. Matthias Faith Formation program is our utmost priority. We ask parents to participate in providing a secure teaching environment by ensuring that their children are escorted to and picked up from their classroom. Please make sure that a “Pickup Authorization Form” is on file. Please be sure to pick up your child on time.
Wednesday CCE– Only catechists and student drivers will be allowed to park in the front of the church. All students that will be picked up by their parents will be dismissed to wait in the BACK of the RE building. The Pick up entrance will be by the back parking lot - From1774turn on Sanders Rd.(next to 6th grade campus) and then turn left on Purvis St. into the back parking lot entrance. Pick up your student and go around the side to the exit in front of the church. It is our intent that by following this procedure, we minimize dismissal congestion and potential accidents with students crossing the parking lot while competing with moving vehicles. Please abide by this procedure.
